Goat milk benefits
The distinctive characteristics of goat milk provide a number of important scientific advantages which are presented on this page. If you would like to learn more about it in details, please feel free to contact us.
Easy to digest
Goat milk contains its own unique fatty acid profile and protein structure. Goat milk produces a smaller and more soft curd in the stomach, due to smaller fat particle size and a different protein structure. Small, soft curds are more rapidly broken down by stomach enzymes which make goat milk more easily digestible. The better digestion of goat milk, also promotes better absorption of vitamins and minerals found in goat milk.
Beneficial fat profile
Goat milk contains high levels of short (SCFA) and medium-chain fatty aicds (MCTs). These SCFAs and MCTs are more rapidly digested and provide quick energy. Fatty acid profile lays closer to human milk fat compared to cow milk fat.
Hypoallergenic value
Due to less alpha-S1-casein, our goat milk products are less allergenic for people suffering from cow-milk protein allergy. Therefore, goat milk is better tolerated by people with cow-milk protein allergy.
Slightly less lactose
Goat milk contains less lactose compared to other type of dairy sources. However, goat milk still contains lactose, but may work for those with lactose sensitivity. Goat milk is not recommended for people that are suffering from complete lactose-intolerance.
Milk oligosaccharides
Milk oligosaccharides are naturally present in human milk and are important for infant’s health. These oligosaccharides stimulate gut health by serving as prebiotics, modulate the immunesystem, inhibit pathogens and improve the gut barrier function. Milk oligosaccharides found in goat milk are more similar to human milk oligosaccharides in terms of structure and quantity compared to cow milk oligosaccharides. Nowadays, more insights are showing that these oligosaccharides can also be effective for adult and senior’s health.
Great source of vitamins
Next to this, goat milk is a great source of important vitamins such as vitamin A, D and multiple B-vitamins. Goat milk is more rich in vitamin A compared to cow’s milk. Goat milk are able to convert beta-carotene, which is a pre-cursor for vitamin A, directly into vitamin A. Did you know that as a consequence of this, the colour of goat cheese is much more lighter compared to cow’s cheese?
Great source of minerals
Goat milk is a great source of key vitamins and minerals. Goat milk is for example, rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and sodium. Each mineral contains unique benefits related to health. Did you knew that one glass of goat milk can contribute to one-third of an adult’s calcium requirements?
Mild and creamy flavor
Next to all the health benefits that goat milk compose, our goat milk products have a mild and creamy flavor with a unique melting profile. Therefore, our goat dairy ingredients are suitable for various food applications like bakery products, chocolate, ice-cream and so on.
